FAQs

1. What makes your LED products different?
Our LED strip lights are crafted in anti-static environments using premium-grade components. We adhere to strict binning procedures for consistent colour and performance, and our high-quality PCBs minimise voltage drop and extend lifespan. Most strips come with a 3–5 year guarantee.

2. Should I choose 12V or 24V LED tape?
12V tapes are ideal for runs up to ~5 m, while 24V tapes support longer lengths (~8–10 m) with less voltage drop and heat—improving longevity and brightness consistency.

3. RGB vs. RGBW LED tape — which is better?
RGBW includes a dedicated white LED, offering truer whites, better colour accuracy (CRI), higher brightness, and improved energy efficiency compared to standard RGB multi-colour strips.

4. What does CRI mean for lighting?
Colour Rendering Index (CRI) measures how accurately a light source reveals colours compared to natural light, rated 0–100. Higher CRI (e.g., 90+) enhances colour realism—essential in retail, interiors, and visual displays.

5. How do I select the correct LED driver?
Match driver voltage (12V, 24V, 48V) to your LED tape. Choose a driver with at least 20% more wattage capacity than your total LED load. Also ensure compatibility with your dimming system and consider IP rating and physical size.

6. Can I cut LED tape to length?
Yes—cut only at marked points. After cutting, properly terminate ends, mind the polarity, recalculate driver needs, reseal for IP rating, and verify adequate heat dissipation.

7. How do I run more than 5 metres of LED tape?
Use higher-voltage tape (24V/48V), inject power at intervals, install signal amplifiers for data-driven strips, use a suitably sized driver, add heat sinks, and follow electrical safety guidelines.

8. Does IP protection affect LED colour?
No. IP rating protects against water and dust but doesn’t change colour temperature or light quality.

9. Can I install tape directly onto any surface?
While tape comes with adhesive backing, it’s best installed on thermally conductive surfaces like metal to optimise heat management and performance.

10. Are your LEDs dimmable?
Yes—most of our LED strip lights are fully dimmable. Check each product’s specifications for compatibility.

11. How do I maintain IP rating after cutting tape?
Use specialised sealed connectors or properly reseal with silicone. Our team can provide sealed cuts to preserve IP protection.

12. Which IP rating is suitable for bathrooms?
Choose IP65 or higher-rated tapes for bathrooms and wet areas. Alternatively, IP20 tapes can be used within IP65-rated profiles for safe installation.
